Dancing queens!!! :)

On wednesday this week we had an orienteering section in Outdoor Education. We first had wlke around school and find some letters a little bit like a german 'Schnitzeljagd'. And later we went out of school to get an orientation for where is north, south, east and west.
This friday we were all very exited! It was formal day:) Formal is a school dancing and everybody is dressing up really nice like on our 'Abschlussball' in Germany. The only diference is that here they don't do standard dancing like waltz. It was very very nice and we had a lot of fun and danced a lot.

After the formal Sophie and Jessica stayed at my house and we had  nice sleepover. The next day we went to the beach again because of the nice weather. It is now getting warmer here and the flowers are starting to bloom. All in all one can say spring is in the air!!!

Rugby game

At the beginning of this week the waether was terrible! It was really cold and we had snow and hail!!!1 Can you imagine that? Sonw in september....haha. I know it sounds funny but we were all quite happy about that because normaly you have no school here if it snows. :)  But unfortunately it was all gone the next morning and we had to go to school.

Snow & hail  in town

hail :/

The rest of the week was like every week at school. :)  In Outdoor Education we did nothing because the kiwi girls had a teaching section with some year 7&8 students.
On saturday we wente to a Rugby game: All Blacks (the national team of  New Zealand) vs South Africa. It was so exiting!!! Here in New Zealand  rugby is the national sport like soccer in Germany. It was an unforgatable evening and I really enjoied it :) Luckily the All Blacks won by 21:11 and everyone
was happy. :)

Lambing season

This week we got the results of our exams from last week: In french I got two achieveds with exellence and in english I got two achieveds. That made me really happy because I failed no exame :).
On mondays after school there is a maori women comming to our school to teach students the tipical Maori dance: the haka. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to zumba lessons which is a kind of dance. It is really hard in the beginning but we have much fun :) And on fridays I'll have volleyball in the future because I entered the school team. I'm really looking forward to having my first meeting on friday :) I'm trying to do some sports here because otherwise I'll be fat when I come home...
Today, Jessica, christy, Kie, Sophie and I went to Jessica's house to see some little lambs because it's lambing season now and Jessica's homstayparents have a little farm. The little lambs were so cute!!!

Exam week...

We had exam week at school this week. So we didn't have normal school and only had to come to school to write the exams. The other days we would have had free time but we had to come to school to teach some younger students german. :). I wrote the English, French and Math exams. Which was actually a quite good experience and I think in at least one subject I'll get an achieved. The marks here are a bit different from Germany: they have only 4 marks which are: not achieved, achieved, achieved with merit and achieved with exellence.
On Wednesday with Outdoor Education we went Mountainbiking. First we had to ride up the hill which was a bit exhausting. But when we got to the top we could ride down and that was really great fun. :)Some of the girls were really afraid of it and just did it once but I think it was very cool so I and a 3 other girls did it twice and in the end we were allowed to go on a ramp.

This Thursday the weather was really great and we went to the beach again. There we took lots of photos and chilled out. :) After that we went to my house (because I live near the beach).
