normal week :)

I just realised, that I'm here for one month today:) That's strange becaus sometimes it feels like I'm here for ages and sometimes I think I'm just here for some days cause the time passed so quick! Anyway, I now get into the daily routine and had a very normal week. So I've nothing special to tell you :( - not even Outdoor Education- (because of the rain we couldn't go rock climbing) that's why I will now write about my homestay and the normal days at school. :)
My homestay family is very nice and I've got a really nice room with a big bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a mirror. But most of the time I'm in the living room because there it's warm :)and I can spend time with Sue and Pete. Here some photos of my house:

School is very different from what I'm used to in Cologne but I really enjoy it :). I have a really nice timetable with great subjects like: Photography, Outdoor Education, English, T-groupe (a groupe where students of the senior years come together to talk about school stuff), Math, Drama, cooking and french. The best thing is that every student can borrow a mac book from the library to use it in class :). Every Monday and Friday we have a school meeting called 'chaple' it's a bit like 'Gottesdienst' in Germany but we haven't got a whole service. We just sing the school hymn and pray some prayers and after that the headteacher Mrs. Bell tells all students the latest achievements of the school.

This week was a normal week at school. On wednesday we had Outdoor Education and did a trip to the Orokonui Sanctuary. It's a place where they try to save the orignal nature of New Zealand. (Like it was befor the europeans came). Unluckily it was really cold. :(




Yesterday was a very nice day. At 10 o'clock Jessica and I went to the Farmers Market, which is every Saturday, and saw a lot of nice food.
After that we went to Cadbury's -the famous Choclolate factory in Dunedin- there we met the others and had a guided tour through the factory. That was really great -it's a little bit like in Charlie and the chocolate factory:)- the best thing was that we got some chocolate to try :). I'll bring some with be when I come back home :).




This mornig, I had to go to school because I have drama at school and we are performing a play so we had rehearsel today. After school we went to town and had lunch and went shopping.


This evening Kirsty and Heidi came for tea.

It was really a nice week and I'm raelly enjoying my time here. :)

Swimming Day!

This week was again a really nice week and I did a lots of new and sweet things.
At the weekend Chiara was here and slept at my house. That was very nice and we had a lot of fun. :) (Chiara and me -having fun:)

On monday it was Natasha's birthday so we went out for tea and had a nice dinner in a restaurant. I had 'beef Schnitzel' :) I was very surprised that they have Schnitzel here. This was really nice and we laughed a lot.

Yesterday we had swimming day at school. In the mornig when school normaly starts all students met at the swimming pool. There we met our houses (all students are seperated into four houses (like in Harry Potter) with different names and coloures -I'm in Laurence which is red) and went into the pool. First there was a cheerleading competition and after that there were many swimming competition in which the different houses had to compete against each other. It was a bit borring because everybody had just 5 min in the water.

The first periode today I had cooking:) we made little cakes with vanilla cream and blueberrys in it. The best thing was that everybody in the class got two and they were very delicious. (view from the top)

I got a new timetable so that I am in year 12 now.
It's still very cold here but I'm getting used to it.

First days at school!

On monday I had my first day at school where I got my school uniform and Maggie showed us the school. After this we chose our subjects got the timetables.

Yesterday all international students had their orientation day. In the morning when school started a bus picked us up and drove us around Dunedin. We first went through the town with all its shops than the bus driver drove us to the steepest street in the world. It was really hard to climb up this street. After that we went to the highest point of Dunedin where we had a great view over the city. Luckily the weather was very nice and sun was shining all the day. :) At least we went to the beach where we saw some very good surfer. ( we coulden't believe cause the water is about 6 degrees).











Today I had my first normal day at school. After lunch I went hiking with my outdoor education class. This was really great fun :D.
So I am really enjoying my first days here!!!

New Zealand!!!

Yesterday I arrived here in New Zealand!
My family is really nice and we have lots of fun together.
It's really cold and rainy here.
Tomorrow we are going in town to buy my school shoes. On monday school will start.

Visa!!!

On Saturday we had a workshop in Münster, where I got to know the other students who will come with me to New Zealand. Mr. Olberding (the organizer) prepared us for our stay in Dunedin.
Yesterday my student visa arrived! :) So I'm allowed to stay in New Zealand.
Now I have to choose the subjects I would like to study at St. Hilda's. ;)
Since my last post 60 days passed so that there are only 70 days left here in Germany.
